Jewellery Care

The purchaser is responsible for the care of the piece, please see care instructions.

As with all jewellery, stone settings should be checked periodically. If there is movement please return* to us to rectify or approach a local jeweller. Care and attention has been taken to set stones securely however Jodie Metcalfe Jewellery is not responsible for the loss of stones after purchasing. Kindly note that due to the individual nature of most of our stones, we unfortunately cannot guarantee an identical replacement for any lost stones. All matte and textured metals will ultimately develop a natural polished effect with time and wear, this is part of the metals characteristics and allows the piece to develop a unique personality in line with the way you wear it and your lifestyle.

Most of our jewellery is designed to be worn everyday. Sapphires, Rubies + Diamonds are all hard gemstones that do not scratch/chip easily with reasonable wear. We use many different stones in our jewellery, all varying in harness than therefore some stones may be more liable to damage.

Polish your jewellery with a lint-free, 100% cotton cloth. Very gentle brushing with lukewarm water, liquid soap, and a soft toothbrush is also recommended if there is build up around stones or deep within textured surfaces. Do not use an acid based cleaner.

Tips for general jewellery care

±Remove your jewellery before engaging in practical activities. This will ensure that your jewellery does not get accidentally damaged.
± Please put your jewellery on last, after applying cosmetics, scents and sprays. Skin and hair products can discolour jewellery and in some cases corrode pieces.
±Storing your Jewellery in an airtight box or bag will keep you pieces looking fresh for longer as exposure to the environment can cause your silver jewellery to tarnish over time.
±Do not store your jewellery in damp or humid conditions, such as the bathroom, as this can cause it to tarnish.
±Take extra care when cleaning jewellery with stones.

In selecting a fine piece of jewellery for your engagement, wedding ring or everyday wear you must be aware of the additional care and maintenance to ensure the longevity of your piece. Fine pieces require additional care over the course of time. If you have any questions or concerns about your piece throughout its lifetime, please contact us and we will assist you in any way possible.
